- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels (yellow or white)
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (or coconut oil)
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp melted butter (optional)
- Optional toppings: grated cheese, caramel, nutritional yeast, chili powder, etc.
Add oil and kernels:Open the Whirley Pop lid and add 2 tablespoons of oil. Add 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels. Close the lid. Turn on the heat:Place the Whirley Pop on the stove over medium heat. Begin turning the crank handle continuously. Pop until complete:Keep cranking steadily. You’ll hear the kernels start popping after about 2 minutes. Continue cranking until the popping slows to 1–2 pops per second (about 4–5 minutes). Remove from heat:Take the Whirley Pop off the stove and carefully open the lid (watch for steam). Season:Transfer popcorn to a large bowl. Drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle salt (or desired seasonings). Toss well to coat evenly. Serve:Enjoy warm with your favorite movie or game night!
- Always preheat the oil along with the kernels, as this helps avoid burning.
- Stay away from olive oil, as it can burn due to its low smoke point.
- To ensure smooth operation, clean the Whirley Pop after every use.
