For the Pork:
- 1–1.5 lb pork tenderloin
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- ⅓ cup honey
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar)
- 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).To make cleanup easier, line a pan or baking dish with parchment paper or foil. Season and sear the pork:After patting the meat dry, add salt and pepper to taste. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. The pork should be seared for five to six minutes on each side until it is browned. Make the honey garlic glaze:Combine vinegar, honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic in a small bowl. Add cornstarch that has been dissolved in two tablespoons of water to the mixture if you would like a thicker sauce. Bake:Place the pork in the baking dish that has been prepared. Cover it with the honey garlic sauce. Bake until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C), 18 to 25 minutes. Rest and serve:Before slicing, give the pork five minutes to rest. Serve hot, with more glaze spooned over the pieces.
- To prevent overcooking the pork, always use a meat thermometer.
- Due to its extreme leanness, pork tenderloin cooks rapidly and may become dry if overbaked.
